Next up we have the 80s v 90s artists, performing on Saturday 5th August.

Here are 14 facts you may or may not know about the line up for the 80s v 90s night!

  • The 80s v 90s line up consisted of: Betty Boo, Technotronic, Johnny Hates Jazz, Living In A Box featuring Kenny Thomas, Midge Ure and The Human League.
  • Betty Boo had a string of hits in the early 90s with her feisty hip hop/pop signature sound and iconic videos.
  • Betty has written songs for many artists including: Paloma Faith, Hearsay and Girls Aloud and has also collaborated with Rod Stewart, The Feeling, Jack Rokka and Alex James as Wigwam.
  • Technotronic’s first single was the groundbreaking Pump Up The Jam, now considered a seminal house classic and hit number 2 on the UK singles chart.
  • Techotronic played live shows opening for the likes of Madonna as well as making TV appearances on Saturday Night Live, The Arsenio Hall Show and It’s Showtime At The Apollo.
  • Johnny Hates Jazz catapulted to fame during the era of Electric Pop and New Romantics, their debut single ‘Shattered Dreams’ became a top 5 hit worldwide, reaching number 2 in the US and Japan.
  • Their album ‘Turn Back The Clock’ entered the UK charts at number 1 and went double-platinum whilst selling 4 million copies in the process.
  • Living In A Box consists of Anthony “Tich” Critchlow on Drums, Marcus Vere on Keyboard and the critically acclaimed lead vocalist Kenny Thomas.
  • The group had many chart hits including: Living In A Box, Blow The House Down and Room In Your Heart. Kenny Thomas also had chart success with: Outstanding, Thinking About Your Love and Best Of You.
  • Midge Ure is a platinum selling artists with many accomplishments such as Ivor Novello, Grammy and BASCAP awards, number 1 singles and top 5 album.
  • Midge is well known for his time as the frontman of Ultravox, he also featuring in Band Aid and has had a successful solo career since the early 80s.
  • The Human League have had many top 10 hits including: Don’t You Want Me, Love Action (I Believe in Love), The Sound of the Crowd, Being Boiled, Mirror Man, (Keep Feeling) Fascination, Human and many more. They have also had four top 10 albums in the UK.
  • The band is made up of Philip Oakey, Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley, all of whom have been members since the production and release of the most successful album Dare in 1981. Philip Oakey was also one of the founding members of the band.
  • All of the 80s v 90s artists will be performing a plethora of hits from their careers bringing back some memories of the decades.
